Von Chinas Wirtschaft profitieren
Technologiepark in Wien soll gute Geschäfte ermöglichen

Auch Wien will von der expandierenden chinesischen Wirtschaft profitieren. Ein wesentlicher Beitrag dazu soll der China Austria Technology Park (CATP) in der Bundeshauptstadt werden. Er soll die Ansiedlung chinesischer Hightech-Betriebe in Wien unterstützen und Kooperationen zwischen Firmen, Forschungs- und Entwicklungseinrichtungen in China und der Donaumetropole, in weiterer Folge dann in ganz Österreich und Europa fördern. Vizebürgermeister Sepp Rieder, der zu Verhandlungen nach China fuhr: "Schwerpunkte sind Gesundheit, Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien, Energie- und Umwelttechnologien sowie Stahl- und Maschinenbau."


 

China-Technologiepark in Wien wird konkreter
Standort-Frage soll bei China-Besuch Rieders geklärt werden

Der in Wien geplante chinesische Technologiepark (CATP) rückt seiner Realisierung näher. Bei der China-Reise einer Wiener Delegation mit Vizebürgermeister Sepp Rieder (S) an der Spitze sollen kommende Woche Schritte zur Gründung einer Errichtungsgesellschaft gesetzt werden. Zusätzlich will man beim geplanten Standort - voraussichtlich in der Donaucity - konkreter werden.


 

Zürich-Versicherung:
Wien wird Ost-Zentrale

Die Zürich-Versicherung, einer der grössten Player weltweit, macht Wien zur Osteuropa-Zentrale. "Das ist eine Strategieänderung", sagt der neue Österreich-Chef Lutz Bauer im WirtschaftsBlatt-Gespräch. Die Zürich-Versicherung hat vor vier Jahren im Rahmen des Konzernumbaus alle wesentlichen Ost-Töchter an die Generali verkauft. Nun hat sich das Unternehmen entschlossen, wieder in Osteuropa zu investieren. Lutz arbeitet gerade an einem entsprechenden Business-Plan, der bis Mitte 2007 fertig sein soll. Als einziges Land in Osteuropa ist Zürich derzeit in Russland vertreten. Dort liegt das Prämienvolumen bei 30 Millionen Euro. Das Russland-Geschäft wird in die neu gegründete Wiener Ost-Holding eingebracht. Die Zürich ist nach der deutschen Allianz bereits der zweite Versicherungskonzern, der sein Ost-Geschäft nach Wien verlegt. (hoe)

Conference on European Economic Integration and the Landscape of FDI in Europe takes place on 20th and 21th November in Vienna (Hotell Vienna Marriott Hotel). The conference is organised by the Austrian National Bank in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).


 

CENTROPE Investment Seminar in Japan
Promoting possibilities of investment for Japanese companies in the Central Europe

The Centrope investment seminar and press conference was held on November 7th, 2006 at the Tokyo and on November 9th in Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The seminar was held in commemoration of the 3 year anniversary of the Centrope standing for Central Europe region. This region established in October 2003 and consists of 9 bordering regions of Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.

Vienna as turntable for Eeastern Europe for ALLIANZ

The german Allianz insurance company bundels its Eastern Europe business in Vienna. The holding will be in used to simplify the structures. Strategy meetings and conferences took place in Vienna. The growth in Eastern Europe should be accelerated. Lastly a premium arising of 2.69 billions was produced. Herewith ALLIANZ is the biggest insurance in this region.
The proximity to competitors surch as Generali or UniCredit, who also have their Eastern Europe central office in Vienna, was an additional fact in the location decision.

Autovision GmbH, a 100% daughter of Volkswagen AG has officially opened its new production plant in Györ, where parts of the Audi TT NF will be produced.

Centrope: Growth in the heart of Europe

The business region “centrope” comprising Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland, Bratislava, Western Slovakia and South Moravia, was more successful during the last 10 years than the 15 “old” EU countries. According to WIFO analysis the growth in the Eastern regions was 5,6% and in the Western parts 4,2% per year. The EU-15 could record only 4,1% growth. The part of foreign direct investments was also higher than the EU-15 average.

Vienna ICT-center of competence in starting phase

The Vienna Kplus-center VRVis http://www.vrvis.at/ and ftw http://www.ftw.at/ want to bundle and extend their know how in the field of information and communication technology (ICT). Planned is the creation of a large dimensioned ICT center of competence, which should pool 100 researchers from 15 countries and approx. 50 employees of partner companies and technical university institutes. The realization is according to VRVis planned for the beginning of 2008.

68 new companies for Austria

In the first half year of 2006 68 new companies from abroad settled in Austria, 783 jobs were created. A factory for wind energy generators is in transaction.

Rene Siegl, ABA: “The decision for the location for wind power generators shall be made this week”.
300 new jobs could be created then in Eastern Austria.
